(I know it should exist spring when this happens, but we had the time at present–so information technology is "fall" cleaning.)

We were blessed when we moved into our new house that there were loads of storage spaces. I can remember asking him why he kept nails that were bent and the comment was that "they tin be straightened and used." Reusing meant that one did not have to buy new ones. Fifty-fifty as a kid, I knew that the price for nails was not terrible even in my family that was pretty poor…so I never understood the comment.
